No Yawns Allowed…Wake-Up Fresh For Morning Exercise

As exhausting as it can be to drag yourself out of bed first thing in the morning to workout, the benefits are well documented. Exercising as soon as you wake up increases energy levels and stimulates the brain. It also releases an extraordinary amount of endorphins, which almost ensure you have a great day. It is a great habit to get into and one that you won’t regret. Here are some tips to help you begin this new early morning journey.

  1. Be prepared

To really kick-start your early morning sweat session you need to prepare the night before. Some people actually sleep in their work-out wear to make getting to the gym in the morning a total breeze, but you don’t need to take it that far! Simple organize what you’re wearing for your session and pack everything you want to change into after. You don’t want to be rushing around in the morning choosing an outfit for work. Pack your headphone, charge your phone, fill your water bottle and leave your sneakers by the door. Don’t forget shower gel too!

  1. Grab a friend

Waking up early for an intense leg day is going to be so much easier if you have a friend to join you. You can spur each other on, and you don’t want to let don’t someone who is relying on you. So schedule a weekly date and stick to it. It won’t take long before that date turns into a habit and just think how fun it will be when you and your BFF are both brimming with confidence! A good exercise routine will increase your confidence and self-esteem.

  1. Look after your body and mind

There’s no point is maintaining a strict workout schedule, if you aren’t looking after your body and mind in general. You back, in particular, suffers a lot of pressure and if you have an old injury that needs tending to – explore the benefits of holistic medicine. Keeping your body in top shape will give you much more energy for those early morning runs. Explore the various ways you can treat yourself after some solid exercise – you won’t regret it.

  1. Eat the right thing

You’re going to want to munch on something that is high in protein with complex carbohydrates. A quick snack of peanut butter and apple, or a bowl of porridge, or an omelet with cheese should tide you over. Just make sure what you eat isn’t too heavy, keep it light and enjoy a bigger breakfast once your workout is over.

  1. Sleep peacefully

When you’ve rested properly and slept like a baby, there’s no doubt waking up in the morning will be easier. Keep your room temperature regulated before you sleep and turn off electronic devices an hour before you settle. The blue light that lights up your phone will disturb your rest.
