Bear necessities

The time has finally come. The Jungle Book opens in theaters everywhere TODAY April 15th. On my press trip to LA for #JungleBookEvent I was able to interview the Producer Jon Favreau, Neel Sethi (Mowgli) and several of the cast from The Jungle Book. It has been one amazing experience. I was also at the World Premiere of the Jungle Book. I actually saw through the eyes of Mogli with virtual 3d glasses. I was able to do all of these amazing things to bring you The Bear Necessities of The Jungle Book. 6e7e17c0-47b8-4242-9f50-3cbed93a1ef9

Bringing back a classic:

I remember my kids being small and watching The Jungle Book. I even read them the classic tale The Jungle Book. I have always loved the book. I am usually not impressed with Remakes.  The way Jon Farveau brought a classic to life is amazing. You feel like you are actually in the jungle watching everything going on. I loved watching it in 3d.

 Family Matters:

This film shows the meaning of family no matter if they are blood-related or not. There is such a powerful message.

Bagheera:”If you can’t learn to run with the pack, one of these days you’ll be someone’s dinner.

Mowgli: “I’m Mowgli, and this is my home!”

This movie is good for any age. I loved it at age 44 and I can’t wait to go see it again.

Inspirational Music:

The Bare Necessities and I wanna be like you are two pretty amazing songs. You will love to hear Mowgli and Baloo singging together. Living life in the jungle with no worries.

Baloo: “Forget about your worries and your strife” That’s a song about the good life.”

I am sure your kids will be running around the house singing the classic songs after watching the movie.

The animals in this movie are so very realistic. The variety of animals Jon Favreau put in this film is fantastic. The graphics in this movie are completely amazing. I felt like I was actually in the jungle looking at the animals. You will truly feel like you are in the Jungle. One of the animals that has a small part is the Pangolins.

Disney used the Pangolins to help spread awareness about them.

We were also able to speak with Jeffery Flocken North American Regional Director for the International Fund for Animal Welfare where he leads the organization’s team of legislative professionals in the US and Canada advocating for global, national, and local policy initiatives on behalf of wildlife conservation and animal welfare.

Pangolins are the most Illegally traded mammals in the world today.

  •  Pangolins are the most illegally traded mammal in the world.
  • There is only 1 Pangolin in north american zoo – 6 world wide living in captivity
  •   An estimated one million pangolins were poached from the wild in the past decade to satisfy demand for their scales and meat by consumer countries including China, Vietnam, and the U.S.
  •  Pangolins are protected by international and national laws but continue to be decimated unabated.
  •  If nothing is done to protect these animals, we could be witnessing the extinction of one or more pangolin species in our lifetimes.
  • Pangolins are small to medium size, scale-covered, insectivorous mammals.
  • Pangolins use their scales to protect themselves from predators as well as stinging, swarming prey.
  • When threatened, pangolins will roll into a nearly impenetrable ball.
  •  There are eight extant species, four in Africa and four in Asia.
  • Pangolins rarely survive in captivity for extended periods of time and cannot be captive bred.

What Can we do? Help by heading over and signing the Petition  Help save these adorable animals.
