Looking your best 24/7 doesn’t mean taking the time to cover yourself in your favorite makeup products. It doesn’t mean spending an hour on your hair, or even wearing your best clothes every day. You don’t actually need to spend that much time on your appearance all the time, as long as you’re prepared to put the work in when it comes to other areas. If you take the advice in this guide, you could feel and look better than you ever have before. Every day will be a good hair day/skin day/insert other day here. Sound too good to be true? Read on to find out how!

Make Time For Exercise

Exercise is so beneficial. I shouldn’t have to tell you this – you probably already know what exercise can do. But just to be sure, here are some of the benefits that exercise can offer you:

  • More energy every day.
  • A better quality of sleep at night.
  • Fat loss, muscle gain, and easier weight maintenance.
  • An improved mood.
  • Less chance of developing certain illnesses and diseases.

And that’s just the basics of what exercise can offer you. I say make time for it because you shouldn’t say you’ll ‘find’ the time. This means you can say that you don’t have time. I totally understand that we all lead ridiculously busy lives and that it can be hard to find a place to slot exercise in at first. But you get to choose. You could get up a little earlier each morning and start your day with it. This means it’s out the way, and you should feel more focused and alert for the rest of the day. You could do it when you’ve finished all of your work/chores for the day if that suits you better. The only problem with the latter is that you can easily say you’re too tired after you’ve finished work or whatever it is you’ve done with your day. We’ve all done it! I definitely recommend getting it done in the morning before anything else. Even if you just do some bodyweight circuit training in your own living room for 20 minutes, it will help you to look and feel amazing over time. We as humans aren’t supposed to sit around all day or live sedentary lifestyles. We were supposed to move around. We’re supposed to be fit and strong! Once you’re in the habit of exercising, you might even begin to really enjoy it. Try tracking your progress so you can see how far you’ve come. Although it’ll take time for you to get the body of your ‘dreams’, you should notice improvements as long as you continuously challenge yourself!

Eat For Health

Alongside your new exercise regime, you should be eating for health. You do want to enjoy your food, otherwise, you won’t stick to your new healthy routine. However, you shouldn’t be eating purely for enjoyment alone. If we could all do that, we’d all live off nothing but pizza and chocolate I’m sure. Treats in moderation are fine, but make sure you’re nourishing your body and supporting your exercise regime. You should be filling your diet with plenty of yummy vegetables. Try cooking foods in different ways to make things more exciting. You don’t have to track your food, but many people find that this helps them when they have fat loss goals, and helps them to stay on track. Staying accountable can be very difficult, so find something that works for you. Meal prep might sound like hard work, but it’s important if you work long hours. Taking something healthy and substantial to work with you will stop you snacking on biscuits out of the kitchen! Again, this is something else you need to get into the habit of. There’s absolutely no reason for healthy eating to be boring, so don’t fret about that! If you take a look online you’ll find a ton of healthy recipes that are delicious. Experiment and enjoy it!

Take Good Care Of Your Skin

Taking good care of your skin as early on as possible is a must. The skin is the largest organ on the body. It is exposed to the elements each and every day, and can be subjected to a lot of abuse. Taking the time each day to look after your skin will keep you looking youthful for longer. You should keep fine lines and wrinkles at bay for longer. Plus, smooth, healthy skin, means you can get away with wearing less makeup. Smooth skin is the perfect base for any makeup looks too! With that in mind, here’s what you should do to take care of your skin on both your face and body:

  • Exfoliate your body a couple of times a week, and your face once or twice a week. Make sure you use exfoliators designed for the right place, and you take skin sensitivity into account. You don’t want to rub it raw!
  • Wash your face every day. If you’ve worn makeup or SPF, always do a double cleanse. Your skin will be properly clean this way and your products will sink in much better.
  • When you’ve washed your skin, you can tone, serum, moisturize, and use any special products you may have on your face.
  • Using a moisturizer with SPF will protect your skin from the harmful environment. You should even wear it when it’s not sunny outside!
  • After a bath or shower, always moisturize. If you don’t, your skin can easily dry out. Focus on dry areas such as the elbows or knees.
  • If you have scars and other imperfections, there are ways you can work on these. There are beauty treatments that claim to help, and also products like the best keloid removal cream to help you.
  • Be consistent with your skin to see results and keep it healthy!

Buy Clothes That Fit You

Buying clothes that fit you is a must. Make sure you know your measurements so you can choose clothes that look best on you – don’t get too caught up on sizing, as they vary from store to store! You should feel comfortable, but make sure you don’t buy clothes to hide your body. Showing off your shape can knock pounds off your figure and make you feel great.

Only Buy Clothes You Love

Make sure that you don’t buy clothes for the sake of it. You should only ever buy clothes that you are totally in love with. These clothes will see the light of day more, so you’re already getting more for your money. It doesn’t matter if you’re buying a casual t-shirt or a pair of going out jeans, make sure you truly love them! You’ll feel great whenever you wear your clothes this way. You can also consider creating a capsule wardrobe to make getting dressed so much easier.

Shorten Your Everyday Makeup Routine

If you take care of your skin as outlined here, you should be able to shorten your everyday makeup routine. If you don’t have much time to spare in the morning, apply concealer, a light blush, and maybe a slick of mascara and lip gloss could perk you up. It’s up to you if you’d also like to use a tinted moisturizer and a little eyeshadow. When you know how to use certain products properly, you won’t need to spend much time doing your face at all. I highly recommend YouTube tutorials!

Make Sure You Have Life Saving Beauty Products At Your Disposal

There are some beauty products I consider to be lifesavers, and wouldn’t dream of being without! Dry shampoo is the first one. I don’t like to wash my hair all the time, as it takes up too much time. Dry shampoo soaks up any grease and gives me extra volume too. This saves so much time when styling in the morning. There are also products like Micellar water, that makes cleansing your face so easy. Makeup brushes and sponges might sound like an unnecessary expense, but they can totally change the finish of your makeup look and make things so much quicker. I know lots of us to have long days too – when you’re a nurse, you often work through the day and night with only short breaks to keep you going. If I’m going to apply makeup in the morning, using a setting spray on top helps to keep it there for longer and stop it sliding off my face. Oil blotting pads can be a huge help too.

Looking your best 24/7 really isn’t as difficult as it sounds! As long as you feel great, you’ll radiate confidence, which will make you look even better. These tips should help you to not only look but feel incredible too. That being said, if one day you don’t feel your best, don’t worry. We all have those days! If you have any tips of your own, make sure you leave them below!
