White Peach Skillet Cobbler is an easy homemade dessert made with fresh white peaches, butter, cinnamon, and a sweet, golden topping. Everything bakes together in a cast iron skillet, creating tender, juicy peaches beneath a fluffy crust. This old-fashioned peach cobbler is perfect for peach season and tastes wonderful with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
I actually made this cobbler by accident! I picked up peaches at the grocery store without realizing they were white peaches until I got home. I decided to use them anyway, and the result was so delicious that this skillet cobbler became a keeper in my kitchen.

How to Make White Peach Skillet Cobbler
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Cook the Peaches: Melt butter in a cast iron skillet over low heat. Add sliced peaches and ½ cup sugar. Cook for about 2 minutes.
Make the Batter: In a separate bowl, mix self-rising flour, 1 cup sugar, milk, and cinnamon until smooth.
Pour Over Peaches: Pour the batter evenly over the peaches. Do not stir.
Bake: Bake for approximately 45 minutes, until the topping rises and turns golden brown.

Tips I Found Helpful
- Use Ripe Peaches: Choose ripe but firm white peaches for the best flavor and texture.
- Don’t Stir: Pour the batter over the peaches without mixing so the crust rises as it bakes.
- Use Self-Rising Flour: Regular all-purpose flour won’t give the same results without added leavening.
- Watch the Crust: Bake until golden brown, adding a few minutes if needed.
- Let It Rest: Allow the cobbler to cool for 10 minutes before serving so the filling can thicken.

what size skillet are you using?
I made this for the first time last evening for a backyard dinner and it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever made. Served it right from my trusty iron skillet. Everyone at the dinner loved it, had second helpings and wanted the recipe. The only additions I made were a cup of blueberries, a little extra cinnamon on top of the batter, and serving it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream 🙂
This was delicious and really easy. I was skeptical…it seemed like a lot of liquid with the butter and batter. But came out perfectly after 50 min in the oven!
