My Instant Pot Buffalo Chicken wing dip is one of my go-to appetizers for every holiday or event the only problem is I have a lot leftover.

I was trying to think of something new to make with my leftovers. Then I came across the fried mac & cheese bites and thought, why not do this with the buffalo chicken dip I had leftover?

Let me tell you the fried wing dip bites were one great decision. Everyone devoured the buffalo chicken dip bites.

What do I need to make Buffalo Chicken Dip Bites?

  • Buffalo Chicken mixture I used my instant pot buffalo chicken dip. ( buffalo sauce or hot sauce, cream cheese, butter, shredded chicken, and cheddar cheese)
  • Panko Bread Crumbs
  • Eggs
  • Flour
  • Dipping Sauces like ranch dressing, cheese dips, or blue cheese
  • parchment paper
  • baking sheet
  • vegetable oil for deep frying

How to make Buffalo Chicken Bites

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Using a ice cream scooper I scooped balls of the wing dip about 1″ round.
  3. Place on a single layer and freeze for 2-3 hours.
  4. Create a dipping station one bowl of flour, eggs, and panko bread crumbs.
  5. First dip each ball in flour, then coat with egg, last press in the panko bread crumbs.
  6. Repeat until all balls are coated.
  7. Heat oil in a cast iron pan on medium heat to 350 or until bubbly.
  8. Place balls in heated oil and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Remove and seve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Can I make fried chicken wing dip in the air fryer?

Yes, I tried both versions and both are delicious. Simply follow the directions above excluding frying and preheat your air fryer to 400. Spray with olive oil or cooking oil. Cook in a single layer for 5 minutes or until golden brown.

Tips and Tricks

  • Use cold chicken wing dip. It makes it easier to form the balls.
  • Make sure you freeze the balls before coating with bread crumbs. This makes the balls stay together when frying.
  • If using your air fryer make sure to spray each ball with cooking spray or olive oil.
  • If frying on the stove top use a cast iron pan or a deep fryer.

What do I serve with Fried Buffalo Bites?

This recipe makes a great appetizer and would go well with a nice salad, celery sticks, and carrot sticks. Serve with some dipping sauces like ranch or blue cheese.

Storage

Store in an air-tight container for 2 days. Reheat in an air fryer on 350 for 1-2 minutes to make them crispy again.
