Chicken marinade ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 5 Chicken Breasts
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

How to Make chicken marinade recipe

  • Add chicken breasts in a 9″ x 13″ casserole dish and set aside.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, and Worchestershire sauce.
  • Place the brown sugar and water in a small microwave-safe dish and melt for 20 seconds. 
  • Add the melted brown sugar to the olive oil mixture, then stir in the garlic and seasonings.
  • Pour the marinade over the chicken.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes or overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 425F.
  • Bake chicken for 30 minutes, then flip and continue baking for 5-10 minutes until an inserted meat thermometer reaches 165F.

Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • Once you remove your boneless skinless chicken breast from the marinade, you will want to discard it. You do not want to pour it over your chicken or brush it on your chicken as it is cooking. This marinade can contain harmful bacteria if reused. 
  • If you know you are making this recipe you want to be sure to let your chicken marinate for as long as possible up to 24 hours. This helps give it an amazing texture and flavor. If you are short on time, let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. 
  • You can easily grill this recipe rather than bake it.

Fridge

Store your leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days. 

Freezer

If you want to prepare your marinated chicken ahead of time, you can easily prep your marinade and add it to a freezer-safe bag with your chicken. You will then want to get as much air out of the bag as you can and place it in the freezer for up to a month.

When you are ready to bake, place it in the fridge overnight and follow the baking instructions.

Notes

 if planning to prepare as a freezer meal, you can combine all ingredients in a large ziptop bag and remove as much air as possible before freezing for 1 month.

  1. I use some of these same ingredients. No brown sugar. I dry my chicken with a paper towel. I rub with olive oil, sprinkle with garlic powder, lemon pepper, black pepper, paprika, onion powder. I wrap my chicken in aluminum foil and refrigerate it for several hours. Remove from fridge about 20 minutes before air frying. Use meat thermometer as soon as it reaches 165 degrees remove and serve. Yummy 😋

  2. Does the brown sugar have to be melted in a microwave? I opted to not purchase another microwave after mine bit the dust. Can I just whisk it together until it’s semi-liquified? Thank you.
