This ground beef casserole is one of my favorite weeknight meals, and It’s simple to make and totally delicious without all the extra carbs(Keto-Friendly). We love making Ground Beef Casseroles like French Onion Casserole and Cornbread Ground Beef Casserole. This Philly cheesesteak casserole is delicious to eat, easy to make, and inexpensive; the whole family loves it.

Ingredients needed for Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

  • 2 Pounds of Ground Beef: 85% Lean, You can also use shaved or thinly sliced ribeye.
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper: Diced into small pieces.
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper: Sweet Red Bell Pepper Diced.
  • 1 Large Sweet Onion: Use a white onion Diced
  • 4 Ounces Philly Cream Cheese: Bring to Room Temperature.
  • Provolone Cheese: 8 slices or shredded.
  • 1 Teaspoon Granulated Onion.
  • 1 Teaspoon Granulated Garlic
  • 1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • Fresh Parsley, For Garnish

    Step by Step Directions for Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

    First Step

    • Preheat the oven to 375℉.
    • Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium heat, and add the ground beef and seasonings.
    • Brown the beef, breaking it up as you go with a wooden spatula.

    Second Step

    • Add in the bell peppers and onion, sauteing until softened. 
    • Stir the softened cream cheese and remove the pan from the heat.

    Last Step

    • If you are not using a cast iron pan, then Pour it into a casserole dish or baking dish.
    • Lay the provolone slices over the top of the ground beef mixture.
    • Bake at 375℉ for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese melted and is bubbly and lightly browned. 
    • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving, and garnish with fresh parsley. Enjoy!

    • Mozzarella cheese can be used in place of provolone.
    • 4 Ounces of Velveeta cheese can be used in place of the cream cheese.
