In our house, we are huge fans of Crispy Buffalo wings during the game, but sometimes we just don’t want the mess with eating chicken wings! That is why I am so excited to share with you these super delicious slow cooker buffalo chicken meatballs! They taste just like buffalo wings but without the mess! Eat them with a fork or a toothpick or pick them up with your fingers because there is no wrong way to enjoy these! Your guests are going to love them!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Meatballs

What do I need to get started?

  • Ground Chicken – or ground Turkey
  • Panko – regular or seasoned
  • Egg
  • Parmessan – fresh grated is best or pregrated in the refrigerator section, not from the jar
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Smoked Paprika
  • Buffalo sauce – your favorite brand
  • Ranch Dressing – homemade or your favorite

How to Make My Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Meatballs Recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°. Line a pan with tin foil or line sheet with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking spray,
  2. In a large bowl combine the ground chicken, panko bread crumbs, egg, parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Using a spoon or scoop, roll the mixture into 1 inch balls and place on the baking pan. should make 24 meatballs.
  3. Place baking pan on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 8 minutes. (They will finish cooking in the slow cooker)
  4. Remove and place meat balls into a slow cooker cover and cook on low heat.  
  5. Pour buffalo hot sauce over the meatballs and toss to coat.
  6. Turn the slow cooker on low and cook for 2 hours.
  7. Serve with ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, celery, green onions, and carrot sticks.

Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • Be sure that you make all your meatballs the same size so that they cook evenly. I usually aim to make mine 1 to 1 ½ inches. To ensure they are the same size you can use a scooper. 
  • You can double the recipe if there is enough room in your slow cooker to properly cook them. You might need to increase cooking time a bit.

To store buffalo chicken meatballs you will want to place them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Can you freeze Buffalo Chicken Meatballs?

Yes! You can freeze Buffalo Chicken Meatballs. You will want to let them completely cool and then place them on a tray lined with parchment paper for about 1-2 hours. Once frozen, remove from the tray and add to a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. 

To thaw, place in the fridge overnight.

To reheat chicken meatballs, you can either reheat on the stove or in the microwave until warm.

You can bake your buffalo chicken meatballs in the oven. Bake them for 25 minutes, then cover with sauce and cook for an additional 5 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Carrots and celery with homemade ranch or even blue cheese are the perfect sides for dipping and snacking on with your meatballs. 

If you want to make it a complete meal serve with tater tots or over rice.
