What Type of Ham To Use For Pinwheels

I just used deli ham to make these pinwheels. I think if you had leftover ham from a holiday you could easily use that as well if it isn’t overly flavored.

Using deli meat you will really speed up the process of prep work on these pinwheels.

Can I Double This Ham Pinwheel Recipe

Yes, you can make as many or as few as you need. If I am serving a crowd of people I made quite a few. They are always the first appetizer to go.

But if it’s just my husband and me, I make a smaller batch so we don’t have a ton leftover.

Do Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Pinwheels Store Well

These pinwheels are best when served fresh. You will find warm and fresh out of the oven they have the best flavor.

After you refrigerate and reheat the texture can become softer and soggy once reheated,

I find reheating in the air fryer or oven gives them the best crisp texture like when they were fresh.

Where Do You Find Puff Pastry

Most of the time you will find puff pastry in the freezer section at your grocery store.

If you prefer to make a homemade puff pastry go right ahead. I find that using store-bought is the easiest route. Plus it tasted fantastic.

Can I Use Something to Replace Puff Pastry in Recipe

Yes if you are not a fan or just can’t find it, feel free to use refrigerated crescent rolls.

It will give you a different texture in flavor but still work in the air fryer.

Just cook it enough so the crescent is cooked through and golden brown.

Whether you have an Instant Pot Duo Crisp, air fryer oven, or Ninja Foodi you will find this recipe is a success every time.
