One thing I love about living in central New York is the Italian food. We have a pizza place on every corner with the best pizza. I have made pizza from home several times but there is nothing like pizza made in a cast iron pan. The crust is crispy and the dough is thick and delicious. I could not wait to try out the Cast Iron Skillet Pizza.
You will need:
1 package of pizza dough or make your own
1 Jar of pizza sauce
16 oz of shredded mozarella cheese
toppings of choice I used Peppers and mushrooms
Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
Oil your cast iron skillet and place doug in side cover with saran wrap and let sit while oven is preheating, about 20 minutes.
Spread the dough out on the bottom of the pan.
Place your skillet in the oven for 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and brown. If you like an extra crispy crust you can place the skillet on top of the stove for 1-2 minutes.
Slice and ENJOY!
