Blueberry Dump Cake
Blueberry Dump Cake is simply delicious with the blueberry filling and the golden brown cake and topped with vanilla ice cream. This cake is as simple as dump and go, with only 3 ingredients.
Blueberry desserts are some of my favorites like blueberry pound cake, blueberry cobbler, and even Blueberry Scones.
The best thing about this blueberry dump cake recipe is that it’s only 3 ingredients and you don’t need to dirty mixing bowls with this cake recipe.
Ingredients needed for blueberry dump cake:
- 2 cans of blueberry pie filling: 2 21 oz cans of blueberry pie filling.
- 1 and 1/2 sticks of butter: unsalted butter works best I did use salted butter and it tasted great. Slice butter into thin slices.
- Vanilla Cake Mix: Any brand of vanilla cake mix or yellow cake mix works for this.
Optional Ingredients:
- Vanilla Ice Cream for the top: There’s something about the hot blueberry cake topped with cold vanilla ice cream that is irresistible.
- Fresh Blueberries: Optional
Step by Step Directions for Dump Cake
First Step:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Pour both cans of blueberry pie filling into a 9×12 baking dish.
Second Step
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix on Top of the Blueberry pie filling make sure to use the full box of cake mix.
- Pat down the cake mix to completely cover the pie filling.
Last Step
- Place pads of butter on top of the cake mix
- Optional place a few fresh blueberries on top.
- Bake for one hour.
- Remove and serve.
