Air fryer Pigs in a blanket have a flaky crescent crust with a hot dog in the center that makes the perfect air fryer appetizers. Crescent-wrapped hot dogs are done in minutes using only 2 ingredients.

These pigs in a blanket with hot dogs are perfect for game day or even great finger food for the pickiest kids. Dip them in your favorite dipping sauce or eat them plain for an easy appetizer.

In Upstate NY we love our Hofmann’s Hot dogs. You can find them in every store and restaurant in our area. They are the best german hot dog using only quality meats and spices.

I also used Hoffman for my Air Fryer Hot Dog Recipe to make simply the best ever hot dog. So you can imagine how happy I was when I found Hofmann’s Cocktail franks for my pig blanket recipe.

What Do I need?

  • Cocktail Franks, Mini Hot dogs, or little smokies.
  • 1 package of crescent rolls dough
  • oil cooking spray (optional)

How to make Air fryer pigs in the blanket.

Cut-crescent-dough-in-4
  • Preheat air fryer to 390.
  • Cut each crescent roll into 4 using a pizza cutter.

  • Wrap each hot dog in crescent dough
place pig in the blanket in air fryer
  • Line air fry basket with parchment paper.
  • Place each blanket in the air fryer basket.
Spray top of pig in blanket with cooking oil
  • Spray top of pig in blanket with cooking oil. (optional)
  • Cook until golden brown on top about 4 minutes.
  • Flip over continue cooking for 2 minutes.

Tips & Tricks

  • Pre-heat Air Fryer reduces cooking time and cooks more evenly.
  • Place crescent rolls in a single layer.
  • Line with parchment paper or foil to avoid sticking to the pan.
  • Spray with cooking spray is optional.

Can I add Cheese to my Air Fryer Appetizers?

Yes, you can add some American cheese or cheddar cheese to each hot dog and wrap the crescent dough around the cheese and hot dog.

Can I use Biscuit Dough for my pig in the blankets?

You can also use biscuit dough for this air fryer appetizer. Simply flatten out the dough and cut it into strips to wrap around your hot dog or sausage. The Cook time may change if you are using biscuits. I would test out 5 minutes and flip over.

Can I cook my pig in the blanket recipe in the oven?

Yes, You can also cook in the oven. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes.

Can I reheat?

These hot dogs are the best right out of the air fryer but you can reheat in the microwave for 30 seconds or place them back in the air fryer and reheat for 1 minute.

Storage

Place in an air-tight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
