Loaded Fries are crispy french fries that are loaded with cheese and bacon, then topped with sour cream and chives. These loaded french fries are the perfect main dish, side dish, or even an appetizer for a game day.

Loaded cheese fries are one of my all-time favorite appetizers to get when I go out to a restaurant. There is something about the hot crispy fries with the melted cheese sauce and bacon that gets my taste buds every single time.

I used air fryer frozen french fries for this recipe but you can also use homemade Steak Fries.

Types of French Fries for Loaded Fries

You can use any type of French Fries, such as Shoestring, Waffle Fries, Curly Fries, Tater Tots, crinkle-cut, sweet potato fries, or even steak fries.

Step by Step Directions

  • Cook Fries according to package.
  • Add Cooked Fries to a plate.

  • Pour over Cheddar Cheese.

  • Add cooked bacon to the top.
  • Place sour cream on top of the bacon.
  • Garnish with green onions or chives.

How to Serve Loaded Fries for a Crowd

The best way to serve a crowd is in a charcuterie board style. Here are the step-by-step directions to do just that!

You will need

  • Large cutting board or serving tray.
  • Small bowls for toppings.
  • Several types of French Fries.
  • Crumbled Bacon.

Directions for serving loaded fries.

  1. Place your small bowls on the cutting board or charcuterie board.
  2. Arrange the different types of fries around the small bowls.
  3. I used 5 different types to arrange this board.
  4. Serve and enjoy!

Reheat leftover french fries in the air fryer. Place air fryer on 400 degrees and cook leftovers for 3-4 minutes. They will get crispy again and you can add all your toppings.

  • 26 oz bag of frozen french fries cooked
  • 1 cup of your favorite cheese sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped chives
  • 4 strips of chopped bacon

French Fry Serving Board or Charcuterie board

  • Large cutting board or serving tray. Small bowls for toppings. Several types of French Fries. Crumbled Bacon.

Instructions
