Can I Make These Meatless

You bet! Don’t want to mess with meat, just reach for extra cheese and toppings! It is totally fine to leave the meat out of the nachos!

Can I Use Ground Turkey

Yes you can swap out the ground beef in this recipe. If you want a leaner nacho reach for ground turkey or even ground chicken.

It will lighten up the flavor of your nachos a bit but still be totally satisfying. You could even toss in pre-cooked shredded chicken, pork or beef.

If you use precooked meat just make sure it isn’t already pre-seasoned with something strong or it will alter the flavor of these nachos.

Best Chips to Use For Nachos

I personally prefer tortillas for nachos. You can use your favorite brand of chips or go the extra step and make homemade chips.

You just want a chip that will hold together. Some tortilla chips can be a bit tender and those type tend to break up or mush up faster.

Can I Make These In Advance

You can make parts of this recipe in advance. Feel free to pre-cook meat, prep veggies for toppings, etc.

But as for assembling nachos and waiting to cook them that answer is no. The chips would become soggy and you wouldn’t end up with crisp and crunchy nachos as you want.

How to Store

Campfire nachos are best served fresh and hot. But if you have leftovers simply place in an airtight container once cooled down a bit.

Then eat leftovers cold or reheat depending on toppings you have.

The nachos will be soggier, so don’t expect a ton from these leftover nachos. They are still good but not near as tasty as night one. The nachos will store for up to 1-2 days once cooked.

So don’t wait and try this satisfying nacho recipe today.
