Rum Balls

Easy No-Bake Rum balls are my favorite adult holiday treat for so many reasons! They are simple to make, are no-bake, and taste delicious especially on a cold winter’s night! You can make these once during the holiday season and enjoy them throughout the holidays because they last forever! Not only that they are a fun treat to share with others to help spread the holiday cheer this time of year. Pair these with our saltine Christmas Crack and you will be in heaven!

  2. In a large bowl, combine the crushed ginger snaps, 1 1/4 cups confectioners sugar, and pecans and stir until combined.
  3. Add the rum, corn syrup and butter and stir until well mixed.
  4. Use a small ice cream scoop and scoop out balls of dough, place on a prepared pan. Place the pan in the refrigerator for an hour, or you may freeze until an hour before serving.

Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • You may wish to use crushed vanilla wafers in place of the ginger snaps.
  • Be sure to use a good quality unsweetened chocolate when making these.
  • You can make the rum balls any size you wish. I made 18 medium sized rum balls, but this also makes 30 smaller sized rum balls.
  • The rum flavor will definitely be present in these. Please note that it doesn’t cook out, so this is a treat you don’t want to share with the kids.
  • You can roll these rum balls in anything you desire! We always do cocoa and powdered sugar but coconut is a great option as well.
