Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole
Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole has eggs, bacon, and breakfast sausage over tater tots with melted creamy cheese; this breakfast casserole is easy to make in your slow cooker or oven. Your whole family will love this breakfast any time of the day.
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day; we have breakfast for dinner very often. We like to have Breakfast Enchiladas, Breakfast Sliders, Or even Sausage and Gravy. Throw this breakfast casserole together before work or before you go to bed for a filling breakfast or dinner when you get home for a hot easy meal.
Ingredients for Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole:
- 6 Large Eggs: We used England’s. You can use an egg substitute.
- 28 oz Frozen Tater Tots: You can use regular tater tots, but you can use frozen shredded hashbrowns or frozen potatoes work as well.
- 8 oz Cheddar Cheese: For this recipe, I used cheddar cheese. However, you can make it a little spicy and use pepper jack cheese or Monterey cheese.
- 1 cup Breakfast Sausage: I used Jimmy Dean’s breakfast sausage crumbles because it’s already cooked. You can use your favorite links or breakfast sausage.
- 6 slices bacon: fully cooked and crumbled.
- 1 Cup Milk: This recipe uses full-fat milk or half and half.
Step-by-Step Directions for Breakfast Casserole
First Step:
- Add eggs to a small bowl.
- Pour Milk in with the eggs and whisk.
- Add salt and pepper.
Second Step: Assemble the casserole
- Grease the casserole dish or slow cooker with pam or butter.
- Place a layer of Tater Tots on the bottom.
- Next, a layer of sausage and bacon, then top with cheese.
Third Step: repeat layers
- Repeat layers, Tater Tots, Meats, and Cheese, until the last layer is meat.
- Pour Egg Mixture over the top of the tater tot casserole.
Final Step: Cook
- Top with more cheese and cook.
For Slow Cooker:
- Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
For Oven:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Bake for 1 hour or until the knife comes out clean.
