Frequently Asked Questions:
Yes! This is their trademark flavor, chicken that is soaked in pickle juice that has taken the world by storm. It helps to tenderize, taste, and keep your chicken nice and juicy while it cooks.
You can marinate your chicken for as little as an hour or up to 8 hours. I did mine for just one hour, and it worked great. So if you want to make this chicken for dinner you could prep your chicken and place it in a sealable bag and toss it in the fridge to soak. When you get home pull it out and prep and cook your sandwich.
If you have leftover sandwiches, toss them in the fridge for up to three days. I will say the breading on the chicken will not be crispy like day one but the flavor will taste fantastic. To make them crispy again pop them in the air fryer for 3 minutes.

That looks so delicious.
We tried this tonight. We love chick fil a and I was excited to try this. It was not copy cat chick fil a. It was good, but not like chick fil a. The breading was crunchy, not flaky, and it fell off when I pulled pieces out of foodi. One thing I struggled with, we have the 8qt foodi and I struggled with fitting 4 chicken breast halves in one run. This made it tough for a family of 4 dinner. I preheated the oven and kept some warm while cooking the rest. It was good, but won’t make our regular menu.
Turn the heat down on a Ninja Grill/ Air Crisper it’s a bit too hot I put it down to 375. The flavor was there but it crisped a bit too much.
Made this, this afternoon and the only thing I did differently was use GF flour and soaked the chicken in pickle longer than an hour. The breading was still powder on the outside which turned out okay because it fell off when I took it out of the Foodi. I will say though the chicken DID taste VERY much like CFA without breading. Will try again but likely just fry in peanut oil for the family and let the chicken marinate over night in pickle juice.
You’ve got to add a little powdered sugar to the flour mixture 😉 Trust me! It makes all the difference in the world!!
@Michelle, why? More flavor or does it do something to the flour to make it stick better?
@Michelle,
What does adding powdered sugar do?
@Michelle
What did adding powdered sugar to the fried chicken do?
Not sure what you mean there’s no sugar
